Job Description
We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team in Peckham, London. You will be expected to contribute to the entire lifecycle of our cloud services, from initial architectural design and proof-of-concept development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for automated provisioning and configuration.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and deployment processes.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost optimization, and security compliance, implementing proactive solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure cloud solutions meet application requirements and best practices.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all cloud deployments, including identity and access management (IAM) and network security.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and networking concepts
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk)
- Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, Google Professional Cloud Engineer)
- Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Experience in a regulated industry or environment with strict security requirements
