Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking highly competent and reliable LGV Drivers to fulfil vital full-time roles across various client sites in the Sneinton, Nottingham area. We are looking for individuals who are not only expert navigators and safe operators of large goods vehicles but also possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to exceptional customer service. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient transport of goods, ranging from general haulage to specific industry deliveries, depending on the assignment. You will be responsible for upholding strict safety standards, adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies, and maintaining the integrity of transported cargo. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Large Goods Vehicles (LGV) in accordance with all road traffic laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations.
  • Perform pre-and post-journey vehicle checks, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy and reporting any defects promptly.
  • Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring secure strapping and weight distribution to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, manifests, and vehicle defect reports.
  • Adhere strictly to tachograph regulations and working time directives.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules, potential delays, and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and personal presentation.
  • Represent Career.zycto and its clients professionally at all times.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure deliveries are made within scheduled windows.

Required Skills

  • Valid LGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) driving license
  • Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification
  • Valid Digital Tachograph card
  • Minimum of 2 years (24 months) commercial LGV driving experience
  • Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and traffic regulations
  • Strong understanding of driver hours and working time directive regulations
  • Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to health and safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift truck license (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach)
  • Experience with specific vehicle types (e.g., curtainsiders, refrigerated units, flatbeds)
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside checks
  • First Aid certification
