As a CDL Truck Driver with Career.zycto, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial vehicles, primarily transporting freight between various points within Alaska. Your daily routine will involve thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring your vehicle is always in optimal condition for the road ahead. You will meticulously manage cargo, secure loads, and comply with all state and federal regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) safely and efficiently, transporting goods across designated routes.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, documenting any deficiencies.
  • Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport and prevent damage.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) or paper logs, ensuring compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules, delays, and issues.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time, including manifests, bills of lading, and expense reports.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards, including defensive driving techniques and hazardous material handling protocols if applicable.
  • Perform minor roadside repairs as needed and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Clean driving record (MVR) with no major infractions or accidents in the last 3-5 years
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance
  • Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with the job
  • Proficiency with ELD systems and navigation tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience driving in Alaskan weather conditions and terrain
  • Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement
  • Tanker endorsement
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., flatbed, reefer, dry van)
