Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Contract Review Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This pivotal role, with a remote option primarily based out of Ruwa, Harare Province, will be instrumental in supporting the legal department in managing and mitigating contractual risks across our diverse operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and interpret various commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents to identify key terms, obligations, and potential risks.
  • Assist in the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Maintain and organize a comprehensive contract management system, ensuring all documents are current, accessible, and properly categorized.
  • Conduct legal research on specific contractual clauses, industry regulations, and legal precedents as required to support legal opinions and strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, sales, and operations teams, to provide legal support and guidance on contractual matters.
  • Prepare concise summaries, reports, and presentations on contract terms, risk assessments, and compliance status for management.
  • Support the legal team in litigation preparedness by compiling relevant contractual documentation and evidence.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy and confidentiality protocols in all aspects of contract handling and legal information management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 1.5 years) in legal contract review and analysis, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of contract law principles, legal terminology, and commercial legal frameworks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document review and drafting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with legal document management software.
