Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Contract Review Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This pivotal role, with a remote option primarily based out of Ruwa, Harare Province, will be instrumental in supporting the legal department in managing and mitigating contractual risks across our diverse operations. As a Legal Contract Review Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all contractual agreements adhere to company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements. This position requires an individual with exceptional analytical skills, a meticulous approach to detail, and a solid understanding of contract law principles. Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and interpret various commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents to identify key terms, obligations, and potential risks.
- Assist in the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
- Maintain and organize a comprehensive contract management system, ensuring all documents are current, accessible, and properly categorized.
- Conduct legal research on specific contractual clauses, industry regulations, and legal precedents as required to support legal opinions and strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, sales, and operations teams, to provide legal support and guidance on contractual matters.
- Prepare concise summaries, reports, and presentations on contract terms, risk assessments, and compliance status for management.
- Support the legal team in litigation preparedness by compiling relevant contractual documentation and evidence.
- Ensure adherence to data privacy and confidentiality protocols in all aspects of contract handling and legal information management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1.5 years) in legal contract review and analysis, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of contract law principles, legal terminology, and commercial legal frameworks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document review and drafting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with legal document management software.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a closely related field.
