Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate coaches for various services including school runs, corporate shuttles, private hires, and tours.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, company policies, and driving laws.
- Conduct thorough pre-and post-journey vehicle inspections, reporting any defects promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting passengers with boarding, disembarking, and luggage as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle to high standards.
- Manage passenger queries and unforeseen situations (e.g., traffic delays, diversions) calmly and professionally.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including logbooks, incident reports, and journey records accurately.
- Ensure timely arrival and departure schedules are met while prioritizing safety.
- Comply with working time directives and tachograph regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid UK PCV (Category D) driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) / CPC.
- Minimum of 2 years' demonstrable experience as a professional coach or bus driver.
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and driving laws.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Cardiff and surrounding areas.
- Impeccable safety record.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a variety of coach services (e.g., school transport, executive travel, touring).
- Current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience operating vehicles with different gearbox types (manual/automatic).
- Familiarity with digital tachograph systems.
