Job Description

Merkle is seeking a highly skilled and creative Remote Video Editor to join our dynamic content production team. You will be instrumental in bringing our clients’ brand narratives to life through compelling video content, ranging from short-form social media ads and digital campaigns to longer-form promotional and educational pieces. Key Responsibilities

  • Edit raw footage into polished, engaging video content for various platforms (social media, web, presentations, internal communications, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with creative directors, strategists, producers, and copywriters to deeply understand project objectives and execute their vision effectively.
  • Perform comprehensive post-production tasks including color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics, and visual effects to enhance video quality and impact.
  • Manage and organize media assets, ensuring efficient workflow, proper archiving, and strict adherence to brand guidelines and technical specifications.
  • Proactively incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders and iterate on edits to achieve desired outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging editing techniques, software advancements, and best practices in digital video production.
  • Ensure all video content aligns with Merkle's and our clients' brand standards, legal compliance, and accessibility requirements.
  • Deliver projects on time and within agreed-upon budgets, managing personal workload and communication proactively and transparently.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition.
  • Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, compression, and delivery specifications for various digital platforms (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, web).
  • Proven experience in storytelling through visual media, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse video projects across different styles and objectives.
  • Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, visual composition, and sound design.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting, demonstrating high levels of self-motivation and discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating creative decisions and collaborating effectively with team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Arts, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
