Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and performance management.
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials, bringing innovative ideas and culinary trends to the table.
- Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and control food costs effectively to minimise waste.
- Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with health regulations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor food quality throughout all stages of preparation and service, promptly addressing any issues.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Handle high-volume service efficiently while maintaining consistent quality.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume, quality kitchen environment.
- Strong culinary skills with expertise in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication abilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP).
