Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mason to join our dynamic construction team in Albion, Black River District. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of masonry work, including traditional bricklaying, concrete block construction, plastering, rendering, and expert tiling for both floors and walls. This role requires a craftsman who takes immense pride in their work, possesses exceptional attention to detail, and is committed to delivering high-quality finishes on every project. You will be an integral part of our project teams, working on diverse construction sites ranging from residential buildings to commercial complexes. Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled bricklaying, blocklaying, and stone masonry work according to project specifications and architectural drawings.
- Prepare surfaces and apply various types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone) to floors and walls with meticulous attention to detail.
- Execute plastering, rendering, and screeding to a high standard, ensuring smooth and level finishes.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure correct layout and execution of work.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, work platforms, and temporary structures safely when required.
- Mix and apply mortar, concrete, and other binding agents as necessary, ensuring proper consistency and application.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all company and industry safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with site supervisors, other skilled tradespeople, and general laborers to ensure project timelines are met.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or issues on the construction site.
- Select, handle, store, and transport materials appropriately to minimize waste and ensure longevity.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in bricklaying, blocklaying, and stone masonry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in floor and wall tiling techniques.
- Solid understanding of plastering, rendering, and screeding applications.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
