Career.zycto is actively seeking experienced Pipe Layers to join our client’s growing construction teams in the Ridgeway, Soldotna area. This is a critical role responsible for installing and maintaining underground piping systems for various infrastructure projects, including water, sewer, and storm drains. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately lay and connect various types of pipe, including PVC, ductile iron, and concrete, according to blueprints and specifications.
- Establish pipe grades and elevations using laser levels, transits, and other surveying equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers safely and efficiently for trenching and pipe placement.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure proper pipe installation.
- Perform pipe fitting, cutting, and joining tasks, including fusion welding or mechanical joining.
- Inspect installed pipes for leaks, damage, and compliance with project standards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines on site.
- Collaborate effectively with excavation crews, foremen, and other team members to maintain project schedules.
- Assist with trench shoring and bracing as required to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Pipe Layer in commercial or municipal construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and civil plans.
- Demonstrated ability to establish line and grade using survey instruments.
- Strong understanding of trenching, shoring, and excavation safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of pipe materials and joining techniques.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, trenchers).
- CDL Class A or B.
- Experience with confined space entry procedures.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
