Job Description
Goodlife Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pharmacy Assistant to join our vibrant team at our Ngong Road branch. This pivotal role offers an opportunity for both full-time and part-time engagement, catering to qualified individuals looking for flexibility while contributing significantly to community health. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for many of our valued customers, playing a crucial role in ensuring their needs are met with efficiency and empathy. You will work closely with our licensed pharmacists, providing essential support in day-to-day pharmacy operations, from dispensing medications to managing inventory and offering front-line customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and organize pharmacy inventory, including stock rotation, ordering, and receiving deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, and directing patients to appropriate healthcare products.
- Process sales transactions, handle cash, and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy premises, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Prepare medication labels and packaging under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Educate patients on proper medication usage, storage, and potential side effects.
- Handle patient queries and concerns with professionalism and discretion, escalating complex issues to the pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacist in administrative tasks and record-keeping.
Required Skills
- Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy Technology or a related medical field.
- At least 12 months of experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and pharmacy software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a pharmacy management system.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of common pharmaceutical products and medical terminology.
- Experience in customer service roles within a retail environment.
