Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Restaurant Barista to join our dynamic team in North Shields, Port Lincoln. You will be entrusted with operating and maintaining high-quality espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment, ensuring every beverage meets our high standards. This role requires not just technical skill in preparing a wide range of coffee and non-coffee drinks, but also a genuine enthusiasm for interacting with customers, understanding their preferences, and making personalized recommendations. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, latte, cappuccino, and cold brews, to consistent quality standards.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Provide friendly, efficient, and personalized customer service, taking orders accurately and making recommendations.
- Manage cash transactions, operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, and handle customer payments.
- Maintain inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, notifying management of low stock.
- Ensure the coffee station and surrounding area are clean, tidy, and organized at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the coffee station and restaurant area as required.
- Uphold brand standards for beverage preparation and presentation, including latte art.
- Address customer feedback and resolve minor issues promptly and professionally.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a barista in a restaurant or cafe setting (minimum 6 months).
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation.
- Ability to create various coffee art (latte art).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and experience with POS systems.
- Attention to detail and a passion for quality beverages.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal barista training or certification.
- Knowledge of different coffee bean origins and roasting profiles.
- Experience with specialty coffee drinks and alternative milk options.
