Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit-related activities.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage budget and forecasting activities, monitoring performance against budget.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a management role
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics 365)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in the retail, logistics, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry
  • Prior experience in public accounting
