Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons across all primary school subjects in accordance with the National Standards Curriculum of Jamaica.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies for academic improvement.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and student well-being.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and support staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Integrate technology effectively into the curriculum to enhance learning experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline in line with school policies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate student records, attendance, and performance data.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education or a related field.
- Valid Teaching Certificate/License recognized in Jamaica.
- Proven experience in primary school teaching.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment techniques.
- Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic educational software.
