As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be a vital part of a medical team, responsible for performing various diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other related modalities, as requested by physicians.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Accurately position patients and select appropriate imaging techniques and parameters to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and effectively, troubleshooting minor issues as needed.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, proper labeling, and adherence to established protocols.
- Document patient information, procedures performed, and any incidents accurately in electronic health records.
- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols for self, patients, and staff, utilizing protective measures and monitoring radiation exposure.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the radiology suite and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in radiologic technology.
Required Skills
- ARDMS or ARRT certification (or equivalent licensure in Arkansas)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
- Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Proficiency in operating various radiographic imaging equipment and PACS systems
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography) is a plus
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Certification in additional imaging modalities
