As a Janitor, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep and routine maintenance tasks that contribute to a positive and safe environment for all visitors and staff. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors.
  • Clean and sanitise restrooms, ensuring supplies are replenished and fixtures are spotless.
  • Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, fixtures, and furniture.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting low stock levels to supervisors.
  • Conduct minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or reporting larger repair needs.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained, stored correctly, and in good working order.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and COSHH guidelines.
  • Respond promptly to ad-hoc cleaning requests or spills as they arise.
  • Maintain secure access to designated areas and ensure premises are locked and secured after shifts if required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in janitorial, cleaning, or facilities maintenance roles, preferably in a public or commercial setting.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning techniques and equipment.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
