Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated Security Access Control Aide to join our client’s esteemed team within Ngozika Estate, Awka. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of premises, personnel, and assets through meticulous access control procedures. As a Security Access Control Aide, you will be the front-line ambassador of safety, responsible for implementing and monitoring security protocols, managing visitor and personnel access, and responding effectively to any security incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access points to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors gain entry.
- Verify identification, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing traffic.
- Operate and monitor security equipment such as CCTV systems, alarm panels, and metal detectors.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security risks.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, security breaches, and emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Liaise with internal staff, management, and external emergency services as required.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures consistently and courteously.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors and staff while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security-related role, preferably in access control.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and system monitoring.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods.
- Knowledge of basic security procedures and emergency response protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent; a higher diploma in security management or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience working with security technologies (CCTV, access control software).
- Valid security training certification (e.g., from a reputable security institution).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proficiency in local languages in addition to English.
