Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Restaurant Inventory Clerk to join our team in Burnie, Tasmania. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Organize and maintain orderly storage areas for all food, beverage, and supply items, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile them with system records.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, and assist in preparing requisitions for needed items.
- Track inventory movement, transfers, and spoilage, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Generate comprehensive inventory reports on stock levels, consumption rates, and discrepancies.
- Collaborate with kitchen management and procurement to identify slow-moving items and implement strategies for waste reduction.
- Assist in negotiating with suppliers and evaluating product quality and pricing.
- Ensure proper rotation of stock (FIFO – First-In, First-Out) to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Operate inventory management software and other relevant tools efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Ability to lift and move heavy boxes (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
