Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus, offering detailed explanations of daily specials and menu items.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilizing a POS system for efficient processing.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor guest dining experience, anticipating and fulfilling additional needs.
- Process payments efficiently and accurately, handling cash and card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, server stations, and assigned sections.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints politely and efficiently, escalating when necessary.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remember complex orders.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of various food and beverage types, including wine pairings.
- Current California Food Handler's Card.
- Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
