Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, latte, cappuccino, and speciality drinks, adhering to quality standards and recipes.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and handling transactions efficiently.
- Engage with customers to understand their preferences, offer recommendations, and create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
- Manage cash and card transactions, operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, and handle cash drawer reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and tidy work area, including coffee stations, display cases, and customer seating areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, communicating needs to management.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Assist with other café duties as required, such as food preparation, cleaning, and restocking.
- Contribute to a positive team environment, supporting colleagues and communicating effectively.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, preferably with a minimum of 1 year in a busy coffee shop environment.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, espresso extraction, and milk texturing.
- Ability to create consistent and high-quality latte art.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
