Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up treatment rooms for various dental procedures.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during patient examinations and treatments (chairside assisting).
  • Sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to strict infection control guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of dental supplies, placing orders as needed.
  • Greet and prepare patients for appointments, ensuring their comfort and readiness.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks as required.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and safe clinical environment at all times.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and clinic policies.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting procedures and terminology.
  • Strong understanding of infection control and sterilisation protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (or equivalent qualification).
  • Previous experience with dental software systems (e.g., D4W, Exact).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of dental radiography.
