Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily feeding and watering of all assigned livestock according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, bedding areas, and associated facilities to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Monitor animal health, behavior, and physical condition closely, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to supervisory staff promptly.
- Assist with routine veterinary care, administering medications, vaccinations, or treatments as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely for examinations, transfers, or other procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of feeding, health, breeding, and other relevant animal information.
- Manage and organize inventory of feed, bedding, medications, and other supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure strict adherence to all biosecurity protocols and animal welfare regulations.
- Engage with the public and educational visitors in a professional and informative manner regarding animal care and husbandry practices, as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in animal care or agricultural settings (can be informal or formal).
- Basic understanding of animal health, nutrition, and welfare principles.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational training or certification in animal science, agriculture, or a related field.

- Familiarity with record-keeping software or systems for animal management.
