Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and reliable On-site Driver Assistant to join our dynamic delivery team in Foothills, Yuma. This vital role supports our delivery drivers, ensuring that goods reach our customers efficiently, safely, and on schedule. As a Driver Assistant, you will be an essential partner to our lead drivers, playing a critical role in the loading, unloading, and secure transportation of various items. You will start your day preparing the delivery vehicle, verifying manifest details, and carefully loading packages to maximize space and ensure item integrity. Throughout the day, you’ll assist the driver with navigation, particularly in optimizing routes and identifying delivery locations. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in cross-referencing package information with delivery manifests and confirming accurate deliveries with customers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading items from delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Verify product counts against delivery manifests, ensuring accuracy and reporting any discrepancies.
- Help navigate and plan efficient routes to optimize delivery schedules and fuel consumption.
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, confirming receipt and providing excellent service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Support the driver in conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Handle and transport items with care to prevent damage.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Assist with other logistical and operational tasks as needed to ensure smooth delivery operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse, delivery, or logistics support role
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly throughout the shift
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (for potential future driving opportunities)
Preferred Qualifications
