Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physiotherapists in implementing prescribed treatment plans for patients.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and mobility drills, ensuring correct form and technique.
- Prepare treatment areas, including setting up equipment (e.g., exercise machines, hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation devices).
- Monitor and record patient progress, vital signs, and responses to treatment, reporting observations to the physiotherapist.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area and equipment, adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling inquiries.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, home care instructions, and proper use of assistive devices.
- Ensure patient safety during therapy sessions, providing assistance with transfers and ambulation.
- Assist with patient intake, documentation, and discharge processes.
- Collaborate effectively with the physiotherapy team and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Certificate in Physiotherapy Assisting or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a rehabilitation or clinical setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work under supervision
- Strong empathy and patience when working with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping
- Physical stamina and ability to assist patients with movement and transfers
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification
