Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Systems Administrator to join our growing technology team in Commerce City, Colorado. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in maintaining, upgrading, and managing our critical IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across all our systems. You’ll be the go-to expert for server administration, network management, and data integrity, working to keep our business operations running smoothly and efficiently 24/7. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day health of our Linux and Windows server environments, virtualized platforms, and cloud-based services. You will troubleshoot complex technical issues, implement robust security measures, and collaborate closely with development and operations teams to deploy new applications and services. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux/Unix) including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer and monitor virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Oversee network operations, including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity.
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches and updates to maintain system integrity and security.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff members.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support and critical incident response.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration within a corporate IT environment.
  • Strong proficiency with both Windows Server operating systems (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
  • Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs) and network hardware.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, RHCSA, CCNA, CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience with enterprise-level storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG).
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management principles.
