Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled carpentry tasks including framing, trim work, cabinetry, and structural installations according to blueprints and specifications.
- Accurately measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, composite, and other building materials.
- Install and repair structures and fixtures, including but not limited to windows, doors, stairs, baseboards, and crown molding.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Adhere strictly to all local building codes, safety regulations, and company-specific health and safety policies.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure high-quality finishes and structural integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper disposal of waste and management of tools.
- Provide mentorship or guidance to junior team members or apprentices as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site carpentry challenges with practical and effective solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a skilled carpenter in construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Expert-level knowledge and safe operation of a wide range of carpentry hand and power tools.
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Exceptional physical stamina, dexterity, and ability to perform demanding physical tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to perform precision measurements and complex calculations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Extensive experience with various types of finish carpentry and custom woodworking.
- Experience in residential and light commercial construction projects.
