Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with account opening, inquiries, and various banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan repayments.
  • Process and verify financial documentation accurately and efficiently, adhering to regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive client records and update information in the banking system with precision.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support the loan officers in the preparation of loan applications, credit assessments, and disbursement processes.
  • Conduct basic financial literacy outreach and educate clients on available microfinance products and services.
  • Assist with daily cash management, reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with cash handling procedures.
  • Generate routine reports on client activity, transaction volumes, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve branch targets and enhance service delivery.
  • Adhere strictly to all anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a banking, finance, or customer service role, preferably within a microfinance setting.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to client needs.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with core banking software or microfinance specific platforms.
  • Experience with cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Fluency in local Nigerian languages relevant to the Opebi, Lagos community.
