Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Verify customer identification to ensure legal age requirements for alcohol purchases are met.
- Stock shelves, rotate products, and maintain attractive and organized displays.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments and tracking stock levels.
- Maintain a clean and tidy store environment, including shelving, floors, and counter areas.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding products, promotions, and store policies.
- Adhere strictly to all provincial liquor laws and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with precision.
Required Skills
- Must be 19 years of age or older (legal drinking age in British Columbia).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (occasionally more with assistance).
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and product knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with a Point-of-Sale (POS) system is an asset, but not required.
- Familiarity with various alcoholic beverages (wines, beers, spirits) is a plus.
- FoodSafe or similar certification is an advantage, though not mandatory.
