Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic tests on vehicles using specialized equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions.
- Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Repair and replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Execute complex engine overhauls and transmission repairs with precision and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest quality standards and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and hours worked.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle issues, recommended repairs, and estimated costs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and workshop policies.
- Continuously update knowledge of new vehicle models, repair techniques, and automotive technology.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical).
- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostic software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and environmental regulations in an automotive workshop.
- Valid Class B or higher driver's license.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification or diploma in Automotive Mechanics/Engineering.
- Experience with specific vehicle brands or heavy-duty machinery.
- ASE certification or equivalent local certification (e.g., BOBS).
