Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive experience.
- Accurately process prescription orders and refills under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Handle cash, mobile money, and card transactions, manage billing, and maintain precise financial records.
- Provide basic information on over-the-counter products, general health advice, and available pharmacy services.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiry dates, and maintaining organized product displays.
- Manage patient profiles, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of all personal and medical data.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to customer inquiries, and direct complex questions to the pharmacist as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy counter, waiting area, and shelving units.
- Adhere strictly to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other team members to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong, ethical work ethic.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and common over-the-counter medications.
- High school diploma or Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.

- Previous experience (1+ year) as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a similar customer service role within a healthcare setting.
- Certificate or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology, Medical Assisting, or a related healthcare field.
- Familiarity with pharmacy inventory management systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in local languages (e.g., Swahili) in addition to English.
