Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose language disorders and communication difficulties in diverse populations (children and adults).
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized therapy plans based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy, focusing on receptive and expressive language, pragmatics, vocabulary, grammar, and narrative skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, educators, and other professionals to ensure integrated client care and carryover of therapeutic strategies.
  • Monitor client progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all interactions and outcomes accurately.
  • Educate clients, families, and relevant stakeholders on communication strategies and the management of language difficulties.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of new programs and resources for language support.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with professional and organizational standards.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in assessing and treating a broad range of language disorders.
  • Proficiency in administering and interpreting standardized speech and language assessments.
  • Strong understanding of child development, linguistics, and cognitive processes related to language.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and client-centered care.
  • Full HCPC registration (or eligibility for immediate registration).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
  • Specialized training or experience in specific language disorders (e.g., DLD, ASD, Aphasia).
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic approaches and technologies for language intervention.
  • Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
