Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans, as per physician orders.
- Ensure the correct positioning of patients for various examinations, providing clear instructions and ensuring comfort.
- Operate and maintain complex radiological equipment, ensuring its proper functioning, calibration, and cleanliness.
- Accurately record and document patient information, imaging results, and procedural details in accordance with hospital policies and medical records standards.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols and guidelines (ALARA principle) to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards before forwarding them for interpretation.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a comfortable and reassuring experience.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance programs, staff meetings, and continuous professional development initiatives.
- Manage and organize imaging schedules, prioritizing urgent cases, and maintaining an efficient workflow.
