Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of scientists, researchers, and engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee the entire R&D project lifecycle, from ideation and concept development to prototyping, testing, and eventual commercialization.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, research trends, and potential partnerships to enhance innovation capabilities.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and efficient project delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong intellectual property strategies, including patent applications and trade secret protection.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Sales) to ensure R&D efforts meet market demands and customer needs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and ethical guidelines for research and development activities.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Materials Science, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in R&D leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a director-level position.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex research projects and bringing innovative products/solutions to market.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to define and drive a long-term R&D vision.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and talent development abilities.
- Profound knowledge of intellectual property management and regulatory compliance in R&D.
