Job Description

Mauritius Telecom is seeking a dedicated and skilled Technician for Repair and Maintenance to join our dynamic team in Plaine Verte, Port Louis. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical faults in telecommunication systems, including fixed-line, mobile, internet, and data services.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on network infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, copper lines, and associated equipment.
  • Install, configure, and repair customer premises equipment (CPE) such as modems, routers, set-top boxes, and telephony devices.
  • Execute repairs on various electronic components and network elements in the field and at designated repair centers.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and industry standards during all repair and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, repairs performed, and equipment inventory.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers, explaining issues and resolutions clearly and courteously.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams and departments to resolve complex issues and improve service delivery.
  • Participate in emergency call-outs and shift rotations as required to ensure continuous service availability.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Certificate in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in technical repair and maintenance roles, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including fiber optics, copper cabling, and IP networking principles.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various field conditions.

  • Valid driver's license (manual transmission) and a clean driving record.
