Job Description

A Childcare Centre Assistant plays a pivotal role in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children, laying the groundwork for their future success. As an entry-level professional supported by Career.zycto, you’ll embark on a deeply rewarding journey, supporting the daily operations of a dynamic early learning centre in Port Augusta. This position is ideal for individuals with a genuine love for children, an inherently patient and empathetic approach, and a strong desire to contribute positively to their foundational development during their most formative years. You will work closely alongside experienced educators and lead staff, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in planning and implementing engaging activities, observing children’s progress, and ensuring their comfort, happiness, and safety throughout the day.

This role is much more than simple supervision; it’s about being an active and dynamic participant in a child’s early educational journey. You’ll have the opportunity to assist with age-appropriate educational programs specifically designed to foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Your diverse daily tasks will range from setting up exciting learning stations and facilitating creative, imaginative play, to assisting with meal times, guiding positive behaviour, supporting toilet training or nappy changes, and diligently maintaining a clean, hygienic, and organized learning space. We are seeking someone eager to learn, proactive in taking initiative, and deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Becoming a part of the team means joining a supportive community that values continuous learning and professional development. Career.zycto believes wholeheartedly in nurturing our talent, offering pathways for training, mentorship, and career progression to help you grow from an assistant into a future leader in early childhood education. This entry-level role is your crucial stepping stone into a fulfilling career where every day brings new joys and challenges, and every interaction helps positively shape a young mind. If you are passionate about making a tangible difference in the early years of children’s lives and are ready to embrace a role that is both demanding and deeply gratifying, we strongly encourage you to apply. We are profoundly committed to fostering inclusive environments where every child, family, and team member feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
