As a Tree Trimming Helper, you will be an integral part of our crew, assisting with various ground-level tasks that are crucial to the success and safety of every job. Your day will involve preparing work sites, handling equipment, clearing debris, and ensuring the safety perimeter is maintained. This role is highly physical, requiring stamina, strength, and a willingness to work in all weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Assist arborists and crew leaders with ground operations for tree trimming and removal projects.
- Perform site preparation tasks, including setting up safety cones, flagging, and securing work areas.
- Operate and maintain various hand tools and power equipment under supervision, such as chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders (after proper training).
- Haul branches, logs, and debris to chipping or loading areas.
- Feed brush and limbs into a wood chipper safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate actively in daily safety briefings and contribute to a strong safety culture.
- Learn and apply basic tree identification and pruning techniques.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding outdoor work.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and follow instructions diligently.
- Basic understanding of safety principles and a commitment to safe work practices.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively in Portuguese (preferred) or English.

- Valid Mozambican driver's license (Category B or C).
