Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify pest types, entry points, and infestation levels.
- Apply pesticides and other pest control treatments safely and effectively, adhering to all company and regulatory guidelines.
- Install and maintain pest monitoring devices and traps.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, explaining findings, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of treatments performed.
- Operate and maintain specialized pest control equipment and vehicles.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist lead technicians in complex pest eradication projects and follow their guidance.
- Provide recommendations to clients on pest prevention and exclusion techniques to mitigate future issues.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a field service role, preferably within pest control or a related industry (minimum 1 year).
- Valid Mozambican driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in Portuguese; basic English is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various outdoor and indoor environments.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift moderate weights, climb ladders, and navigate confined spaces.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of chemical handling safety procedures and material safety data sheets (MSDS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous certification or training in pest management from a recognized institution.
- Knowledge of local pest species common to Maputo and their behavioral patterns.
- Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) principles and practices.
- Experience with handheld electronic devices for data entry and reporting.
