Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, identifying their needs promptly.
- Accurately process sales transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system and efficiently handle cash, card, and mobile payments.
- Provide clear and concise information and appropriate recommendations on over-the-counter products, escalating medical inquiries to a qualified pharmacist.
- Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and attractive presentation of the pharmacy retail area, including shelving, product displays, and waiting areas.
- Efficiently restock shelves, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and assist with periodic stock checks and audits.
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming stock deliveries against invoices and promptly report discrepancies.
- Assist pharmacists with various administrative tasks, including filing, managing patient records, and preparing prescriptions for collection, as required.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards within the pharmacy premises.
- Address customer complaints, feedback, and general queries with empathy, professionalism, and efficiency, escalating complex issues to management or pharmacists.
- Support in implementing promotional activities, setting up new product displays, and assisting with merchandising changes to enhance sales.
Required Skills
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO certificate or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a customer service or retail sales role, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems and general office software.
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member and independently when needed.
- A proactive, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with a strong commitment to learning and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/relevant certification in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, Health Sciences).
- Previous experience working specifically in a pharmacy, healthcare retail, or medical environment.
- Basic knowledge of common pharmaceutical terminology, over-the-counter medications, or health products.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices and stock rotation principles.
