Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the overall R&D strategy and roadmap for Career.zycto, aligning with business goals and market demands.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of researchers and developers, fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of R&D projects, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to prototyping, testing, and deployment.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, data analytics) to develop cutting-edge talent solutions.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and timely project delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Operations, Marketing) to translate business needs into actionable R&D initiatives.
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry experts to leverage external knowledge and resources.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and intellectual property best practices.
- Present R&D findings, progress, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and external partners.
Required Skills
- PhD or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Industrial Psychology, or a related scientific/technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in research and development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or directorial role.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing complex R&D projects from inception to commercialization or implementation.
- Strong understanding of industrial sectors relevant to Zimbabwe (e.g., manufacturing, mining, agriculture) and their talent needs.
- Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top-tier scientific and engineering talent.
- Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in budget management and resource allocation for R&D initiatives.
