Key Responsibilities
- Perform professional installation of various types of air conditioning systems, including split units, multi-split systems, and light commercial units, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic checks on AC systems to identify and resolve issues, ensuring peak operational efficiency and longevity.
- Execute timely and effective repairs on faulty AC units, replacing defective components such as compressors, coils, motors, and thermostats.
- Safely handle and manage refrigerants, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and proper disposal procedures.
- Provide clear and concise explanations to customers regarding system operation, maintenance requirements, and recommended solutions, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Maintain accurate records of all service, installation, and repair work performed, including parts used and hours worked.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and national health and safety regulations while on-site or in the workshop.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an AC Technician, specifically in cooling system installation and maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC systems, and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and refrigerant recovery units.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform duties, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or technical certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- A valid Mauritian driving license (manual preferred) with a clean record.
- Experience with smart AC systems and building management systems (BMS).
- Familiarity with various brands and models of air conditioning units available in the Mauritian market.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
