Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AC Technician specializing in cooling and installation to join our dynamic team in Quatre Bornes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Key Responsibilities
- Execute the professional installation of various AC units, including split, multi-split, VRV/VRF, and ducted systems, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on existing AC systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in AC and refrigeration units using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct timely and effective repairs, replacing faulty components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, and control systems.
- Charge and reclaim refrigerants responsibly, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
- Educate clients on proper system operation, basic maintenance, and energy-saving practices.
- Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, including parts used and hours worked.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines, company policies, and industry best practices on every job site.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as an AC Technician, with a strong focus on installation and cooling systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems, including their components, functions, and operational principles.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant circuit faults.
- Familiarity with various AC unit types and brands commonly found in residential and commercial settings.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Possession of a valid Mauritian driving license and a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with clients.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical diploma or certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Experience with advanced HVAC control systems and building management systems (BMS).
- Certification in refrigerant handling (e.g., F-Gas equivalent).
- Prior experience working with VRV/VRF systems.
