We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Account Reconciliation Clerk to join our finance team on a part-time basis in Liberdade, Matola. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records.
- Investigate and resolve any variances or discrepancies identified during the reconciliation process in a timely manner.
- Prepare detailed reconciliation reports and summaries for management review and audit purposes.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) to obtain necessary information and clarify transactions.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all reconciliation activities and supporting documentation.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures related to account reconciliation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reconciliation processes and improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with the utmost integrity and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience (1+ year) in a reconciliation, bookkeeping, or data entry role within a finance department.

- Understanding of local financial regulations and compliance requirements in Mozambique.
