Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all aspects of general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Conduct intercompany reconciliations and manage associated eliminations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing and payment processing.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (IFRS) and tax regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Support year-end audit preparations and liaise with external auditors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Accountant with strong bookkeeping and reconciliation skills (minimum 2 years).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting (IFRS knowledge is essential).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Partially or fully qualified ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting designation.
- Experience working in a professional services firm or similar environment.
- Familiarity with Mauritian tax laws and regulations.
