Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with a robust understanding of Corporate Finance, Audit, and Tax principles to join our growing team in Cardiff City Centre. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Manage and oversee various tax compliance activities, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor queries.
  • Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
  • Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
  • Assist in corporate finance activities, including due diligence, financial modelling, and investment analysis.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Provide financial insights and reports to management to aid in performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance department.

Required Skills

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent professional accounting qualification).
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in tax computations and compliance.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an environment with exposure to corporate finance activities.
  • Familiarity with financial modelling and business intelligence tools.
  • Previous experience in a multi-entity or group accounting structure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
