Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Manage and oversee various tax compliance activities, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE.
- Support internal and external audit processes, preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor queries.
- Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
- Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
- Assist in corporate finance activities, including due diligence, financial modelling, and investment analysis.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Provide financial insights and reports to management to aid in performance monitoring and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance department.
Required Skills
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent professional accounting qualification).
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience in tax computations and compliance.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an environment with exposure to corporate finance activities.
