Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead and support external audit processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and accounting standards (e.g., FRS 102, IFRS).
  • Prepare corporate tax computations, returns, and ensure timely submission to HMRC.
  • Provide expert advice on corporate finance matters, including financial modelling, due diligence, and capital structure optimization.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls and financial policies.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and recommending strategic improvements.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and legislations.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, with significant exposure to corporate finance, audit, and tax.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex financial information clearly.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a practice firm or a complex corporate environment.
  • Specialized experience in a particular industry sector relevant to our client base.
  • Familiarity with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience in process improvement and system implementation.
