Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate data entry of financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports, into accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of daily sales, cash, and bank statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic financial records, ensuring all documentation is filed correctly and accessible.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable entries, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing and collection efforts.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and summaries as required by management or senior accounting staff.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external suppliers or customers regarding financial queries.
  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits by gathering and organizing necessary documentation.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial information and company data.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as scanning, copying, and mailing as needed by the accounting department.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an accounting or administrative support role (internships count)

  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
  • Knowledge of local Mozambican tax regulations and financial practices
