Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our growing finance team in Stockport, Manchester. As an Accounts Receivable Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing our incoming payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and contributing to the overall financial health of our organisation. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and post incoming payments (cheques, electronic transfers, credit card payments) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Generate and distribute invoices, statements, and credit memos to clients.
  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and initiate collections procedures, including making phone calls and sending correspondence.
  • Reconcile customer accounts by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Resolve client billing discrepancies and answer customer queries promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles is a plus but not essential for entry-level.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A-Levels or equivalent qualifications, preferably in a business or finance-related subject.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) is an advantage, but not required.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
