Key Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and deliver a varied, stimulating, and person-centred activities program for community members, catering to diverse needs and interests.
- Organize and facilitate group activities, individual sessions, and special events, both on-site and off-site, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers, providing guidance and support to maximize their contribution to activities.
- Manage the activities budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and procurement of necessary materials and supplies.
- Conduct regular assessments of participant needs and preferences to continuously adapt and improve activity offerings.
- Foster strong relationships with participants, their families, and local community organizations to enhance program reach and impact.
- Maintain accurate records of participation, outcomes, and feedback, using data to inform future program development.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies, conducting risk assessments as required.
- Promote the activities program effectively to encourage broad participation and community involvement.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an activities coordination or leadership role, preferably within a community, care, or recreational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute engaging activities for diverse groups.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
- A creative and resourceful approach to program development and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in social care, recreation, health and wellbeing, or a related field.
- Experience managing budgets and resources for activity programs.
- Knowledge of local community resources and partnerships in the Wilberfoss/Pocklington area.
- First Aid certification and/or Safeguarding Adults/Children training.
