Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, and mentor a team of activity coordinators and instructors.
- Develop, plan, and implement diverse and engaging activity programmes for various age groups and abilities.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant health, safety, and safeguarding regulations and best practices.
- Manage budgets, resources, and scheduling efficiently for all activity programmes.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of activity staff.
- Promote and market activity programmes effectively to maximise participation and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on activity participation, feedback, and outcomes.
- Liaise and collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and local community groups.
- Address participant inquiries, feedback, and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of activity offerings and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a leadership or supervisory role within an activities or leisure setting.
- Strong organisational, planning, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate engaging activity programmes.
- Proficiency in budget management and effective resource allocation.
- Current First Aid and Safeguarding certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, to align with activity schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Leisure Management, Education, Sport Science, or a related field.
- Experience with marketing and promotional activities for community programmes.
- In-depth knowledge of local community needs and effective engagement strategies.
- Specific coaching or instructional qualifications in sports, arts, outdoor activities, or similar disciplines.
- Valid UK Driving Licence with access to personal transport.
