Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Entry Level Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Clearbrook, Abbotsford. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of actuarial models used for pricing, reserving, forecasting, and capital management.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies relevant to actuarial calculations.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and documentation summarizing actuarial findings and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Support senior actuaries with various projects, including experience studies, product development, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Contribute to the automation and efficiency of actuarial processes and tools.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs, including actuarial exams.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting actuarial work.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong foundational understanding of actuarial principles and statistical concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data visualization).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of one or more actuarial exams (SOA or CAS).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or VBA.
  • Experience with actuarial software (e.g., GGY AXIS, Prophet) or similar modeling tools.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in an actuarial or analytical role.
