Key Responsibilities

  • Assist actuaries with data collection, validation, and analysis for various actuarial projects.
  • Prepare and maintain actuarial models and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Generate reports and summaries of actuarial findings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the valuation of insurance and annuity products, and pension plans.
  • Perform experience studies on mortality, morbidity, lapses, and expenses.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of new insurance products and features.
  • Research and analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors impacting actuarial work.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments, including Underwriting, Claims, and Finance.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance actuarial knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Time management and organizational skills, especially with flexible schedules.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of at least one actuarial examination (e.g., SOA/CAS, IFoA).
  • Familiarity with actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes, R, Python) is a plus.
  • Previous internship or work experience in an actuarial, finance, or data analysis role.
  • A strong academic record.
